Our Story
Skep Collective is a family run small honey producer. We started with one hive in our garden in North Yorkshire, which overlooks the Hambleton Hills and the famous White Horse. Our bees have proved very happy here and have swarmed to produce several more hives.
We currently only produce honey in small batches in Spring and Summer for sale locally, we hope to expand our online range as we grow.
In the meantime you can purchase our beautifully illustrated range of bee zines here. We hope you enjoy learning about the wonderful world of bees.
Our Name
Our name comes from the skeps we use to catch swarms of bees. The skep is a woven basket in the shape of a more traditional bee hive. In spring our bees often multiply beyond the size of their hive, they fly around and gather in a clump. We then take our skep and carefully drop them into, before moving them to a new hive.
Our Values
Bees are increasingly underthreat from our modern way of life and we want to ensure that as many people as possible know the importance of bees to the world. We aim to be as environmentally friendly as possible in everything we do, whilst promoting ways you can learn about and help our wildlife.
We also love bright, modern design and we hope to reflect this in our products.
